What is Block Raiders
Let me tell you about our game!
Block Raiders is an immersive treasure hunting game, set within the Upland space, mapped to the real world.
The basic multiplayer gameplay works like this:
- All players add UPX to the game.
- These coins are dispersed over the game map (a real neighbhourhood, built out in layer one of the Upland metaverse).
- Once the timer goes off, players will need to run as fast as possible to raid as much coins as they can.
- At the end of the game, you can go home with more UPX, if you have out-raided your fellow gamers.
Of course, this is the most basic description, and there is a lot more in store! We are currently working on getting this basic gameplay live to everyone in Upland. To stay up to date on what we are doing right now, make sure to check out the roadmap and follow us on social media.

To understand layer two, let's begin with layer one. Layer one represents the foundation of a project, an existing platform that serves as the base for potential additional projects. These additional projects are referred to as layer two, as they expand, innovate, and enhance the user experience utilizing assets from layer one.
In our case, layer one refers to the Upland metaverse, which provides the underlying infrastructure for our layer two project: Block Raiders. With this, we aim to add new dimensions, exciting gameplay, and unique features that build upon the existing Upland base, offering an enhanced experience for players to enjoy.
Block Raiders is not directly linked to any blockchain. That way you can play without any specific knowledge about blockchain technology.
Because we utilize Upland assets, ownership of certain assets are already registered to the EOS blockchain. Therefore you don't need a wallet to play our game, you can just create an Upland account and link it to Block Raiders to play.
Ready Player Me is a cross-game avatar platform. We use their avatars, so you will be able to walk around with your avatar in our game - but also use that same avatar to walk around in other RPM spaces or games. Learn more about this project here.

Yes, definetely! We are starting with Avalon Park, Chicago, so if you have properties there you might see them in game soon. After we have the basic game live, we will work on providing opportunities for property owners.
We plan to expand our game to other neighbourhoods, but that will be a longterm development. If you are representing a build out node in Upland, you can always contact us if you have interest in collaborating - but keep in mind that this will be somewhere further down the road.
